Sony Pictures Buys Alamo Drafthouse: A Cinematic Comeback!
Sony’s Big Move:
Sony Pictures is diving back into the theater business, acquiring Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in a landmark deal. This marks the first time in over 75 years a major Hollywood studio has owned a movie theater, thanks to the 2020 rescinding of the Paramount Consent Decrees.
A Storied History:
Alamo Drafthouse is beloved for its unique cinema experience. As North America's seventh-largest theater chain, it now has the muscle to enhance its already legendary status.

S.F. Just Had Its First Big Mayoral Debate
San Francisco's top mayoral candidates kicked off the election season with their inaugural debate on Wednesday, defending their records and presenting their visions for the city's future.
Mayor London Breed went head-to-head with her four main challengers—Mark Farrell, Daniel Lurie, Aaron Peskin, and Ahsha Safaí—in a spirited 90-minute exchange at the Sydney Goldstein Theater, just a short stroll from City Hall.
