SF Plugs In: 5,000 EV Chargers by 2030
San Francisco aims to boost EV ownership by installing 5,000 curbside chargers citywide by 2030, starting with a pilot program next year.
City leaders, including Supervisor Rafael Mandelman, announced the plan on Tuesday, emphasizing its goal to make EV ownership accessible for all residents, especially those without garages.
The initiative aligns with San Francisco's climate goals, targeting 25% electric vehicles by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2040.
US Sues Adobe for Tricky Subscriptions
The US government is taking Adobe to court, accusing the tech giant of deceptive practices around its subscription services. DOJ claims Adobe traps consumers in pricey subscriptions and hides early cancellation fees.
The lawsuit alleges Adobe enrolls users in its most lucrative subscription plan without clear disclosure of terms. The suit says Adobe buries the details of its annual, paid monthly plan, including hefty early termination fees, in fine print and hidden links.
Canceling a subscription is a nightmare, according to the DOJ. Customers face a maze of webpages, pop-ups, and even early termination fees designed to discourage them from canceling. Phone and live chat cancellations are equally frustrating, with frequent disconnections and the need to repeatedly explain the cancellation reason.
This lawsuit is the latest in ongoing regulatory scrutiny for Adobe, which also faced antitrust issues in its attempt to acquire Figma for $20 billion.
